When is FIFA World Cup 26™ taking place?

The next FIFA World Cup™ returns to its traditional season of between June and July. The spectacle kicks off with its opening match on Thursday 11 June, with the World Cup final taking place on Sunday 19 July. You can find the full match schedule here:

How will FIFA World Cup 26™ work with 48 teams?

FIFA World Cup 2026™ will have a new format, featuring 48 teams (16 more than Qatar 2022™) and 104 matches (40 more than the last edition). The number of groups has been increased from eight to twelve, with an additional round of 32 knockout stage added to incorporate the expanded number of participants. More details can be found here:
